1. The Basic Gist
We won't sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. At Hiresava, we care deeply about your privacy and hate spam just as much as you do. This policy explains how we handle your data responsibly while operating our beta-stage job board for South African virtual assistants (VAs).
By using the Hiresava website or services (the "Platform"), you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform.
Hiresava is operated by BIJI Labs LLC, a Delaware LLC, at 8 The Green #14741, Dover, DE 19901, United States. We comply with applicable laws, including South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal data to facilitate job matching, applications, and Platform operations, using Supabase for secure storage and authentication.
- Personal Information from Workers: Name, email, resume, location, date of birth (DOB).
- Personal Information from Employers: Name, email, company name.
- Non-Personal Information: IP address, browser details, pages visited, and HTTP cookies. We use this for website research, development, and administration (e.g., verifying access or improving features). We may add Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics for anonymized insights like page views—no personal tracking.
Data is collected when you register, post/apply for jobs, or interact with the Platform. For your safety, payment details (e.g., credit card info) are not stored on our servers; they are handled securely by our payment gateway, Stripe, which keeps them encrypted.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Enable job postings, applications, and matching between Workers and Employers.
- Authenticate users and manage sessions via Supabase.
- Send emails (see Section 4).
- Analyze usage for improvements (e.g., via IP addresses or analytics).
- Comply with legal requirements or investigate issues.
During beta, we may also use data for testing and debugging to enhance the Platform.
4. Email Communications
We won't sell or rent your email address. We may send emails for Notifications, Transactional Emails, Relationship Emails, Commercial Emails, and Correspondence.
All non-essential emails include opt-out instructions. To exclude yourself from promotional or non-Hiresava mailings, contact us (see Section 10). We aim to minimize spam and respect your preferences.
5. Sharing Your Information
- Workers: Your profile info (e.g., email, resume, location, DOB) is shared with Employers for jobs you apply to or when we source matches. All info you provide is available for such sharing to facilitate hiring.
- Employers: Your name, company, and job details are shared with Workers who apply or browse.
We share data with third-party providers only for specific services (e.g., Stripe for payments, Supabase for backend/auth, Google/Vercel for analytics)—they can't use it for other purposes. No sharing for marketing without your consent. Data may be transferred internationally (e.g., to U.S. servers) with safeguards like encryption.
If we add social integrations (e.g., Facebook login), we'll use that data (e.g., name/email) to improve your experience and allow deletion requests. We'll comply unless we have a legitimate reason not to, and delete residual copies as soon as reasonably possible.
Hiresava may contain links to other sites—we're not responsible for their privacy practices.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use HTTP cookies for essential functions like login, session management (via Supabase), and tracking items (e.g., job applications). Cookies help verify sessions and measure service effectiveness. No cross-site tracking.
You can disable cookies in your browser, but this may limit features (e.g., login requires them). IP addresses are used for verification, administration, and identifying users if needed (e.g., for security).
7. Monitoring, Enforcement, and Legal Requests
We have no obligation to monitor usage but reserve the right to review, retain, or disclose information to comply with laws, regulations, legal processes, or investigations (e.g., using IP addresses to protect the Platform or cooperate with authorities).
8. Data Security, Retention, and Your Rights
Data is retained indefinitely for Platform functionality, but you can request deletion, access, or correction by emailing us—we'll respond promptly under POPIA (e.g., rights to object or erase).
We take a proactive approach to security (e.g., Supabase encryption), but no internet transmission is 100% secure. We can't guarantee against errors, unauthorized access, or breaches—you use the Platform at your own risk, and we're not liable for such incidents. Once we receive your data, we make reasonable efforts to protect it.
9. Children's Privacy, Beta Disclaimer, and Changes
The Platform is for users 18+. We don't knowingly collect data from children—if we do, we'll delete it.
Hiresava is in beta: There may be bugs affecting data handling, no guarantees on security or availability—use at your own risk. Reach out if issues arise. We may update this Policy anytime; changes are effective upon posting. Check back periodically—continued use means acceptance.
