We help businesses, schools, warehouses, retail facilities, and property managers reduce energy costs through turnkey lighting conversion projects — often with utility incentives covering a significant portion of the project cost.
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Virtual SDR (Sales Development Representative) based in South Africa to support outbound prospecting and appointment generation efforts.
This is not a generic admin role. We are looking for someone who is confident communicating with business decision-makers, comfortable working inside CRM systems, and eager to grow into a high-performing outbound sales role.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for helping generate qualified sales opportunities through outbound prospecting activities including:
Cold calling - This role requires daily outbound cold calling to U.S.-based business professionals.
Email outreach
LinkedIn outreach
Lead research
CRM management
Appointment setting
Follow-up coordination
Your primary goal is to help our sales team consistently generate qualified walkthroughs and meetings with commercial businesses and property managers.
Responsibilities
Outbound Prospecting
Make outbound cold calls to commercial prospects in the United States
Follow outbound call scripts while sounding natural and conversational
Qualify prospects and identify decision-makers
Schedule meetings/site walkthroughs for the sales team
Email & LinkedIn Outreach
Send personalized outbound emails
Conduct LinkedIn connection and messaging campaigns
Follow structured outreach sequences and cadences
Lead Research & Qualification
Research companies and identify appropriate contacts
Verify contact information
Identify potential fit based on company type, building size, and geography
CRM & Pipeline Management
Update HubSpot CRM accurately
Track outreach activity and meeting outcomes
Maintain organized notes and follow-up tasks
Administrative Sales Support
Assist with follow-up coordination
Help manage prospect lists
Support ongoing outbound campaigns
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
Fluent in English with excellent verbal communication skills
Comfortable speaking with business professionals in the U.S.
Confident making cold calls
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Coachable and process-driven
Self-motivated and proactive
Comfortable with rejection and persistent in follow-up
Preferred Experience
Preferred but not required:
SDR / BDR experience
Appointment setting experience
Cold calling experience
Experience using HubSpot or other CRMs
Experience with Apollo.io, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or email outreach tools
Experience working with U.S.-based companies
Compensation
Base hourly pay (depending on experience)
Performance bonuses tied to qualified meetings and opportunities generated

Working Hours
Part-time or full-time available
Must overlap with U.S. Eastern Time business hours for at least part of the day
