Short-Term Rental Operations Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Short-Term Rental Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing vacation rental portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining property standards, coordinating vendors and housekeeping teams, and driving operational efficiency across all managed properties.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at problem-solving, and has a strong understanding of hospitality, property management, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Property Operations
Oversee daily operations of all managed short-term rental properties.
Ensure properties are guest-ready and maintained to company standards.
Conduct regular property inspections and quality assurance checks.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and resolve property issues promptly.
Manage inventory, supplies, and replenishment schedules.
Guest Experience
Monitor guest communications and ensure timely responses to inquiries and issues.
Handle escalated guest concerns and resolve complaints professionally.
Implement processes that improve guest satisfaction and review scores.
Ensure seamless check-in and check-out experiences.
Housekeeping & Vendor Management
Schedule and coordinate housekeeping, maintenance, and vendor services.
Recruit, onboard, and manage cleaning teams and contractors.
Monitor vendor performance and maintain service quality standards.
Negotiate vendor contracts and pricing when appropriate.
Team Leadership
Train and supervise operations coordinators, inspectors, and field staff.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational workflows.
Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and exceptional service.
Conduct performance reviews and support team development.
Revenue & Performance Management
Monitor occupancy, guest satisfaction, and operational KPIs.
Collaborate with revenue management and marketing teams to maximize property performance.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Prepare regular operational reports for leadership.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with local regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies.
Maintain safety standards across all properties.
Manage incident reporting and coordinate resolutions when necessary.
Qualifications
Required
3+ years of experience in short-term rental, hospitality, property management, or related operations roles.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Experience managing multiple properties or locations simultaneously.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Proficiency with property management systems and operational software.
Preferred
Experience with platforms such as Airbnb, VRBO, Guesty, Hostaway, Lodgify, or similar systems.
Experience leading teams and managing vendors.
Knowledge of local short-term rental regulations and compliance requirements.
Hospitality, business, or property management certification or degree.
